He Was Reconciling Us to God.

In the agony of the cross, He was reconciling us to God.
Dear reader. Every man and woman's a SINNER (what is sin?) IN NEED OF SALVATION (what is salvation?
That salvation's only possible only through Christ Jesus, the Lamb of God.

The ENTIRE human race is affected by sin, there's no EARTHLY remedy for it.
In Psalms 14:2-3 of the Bible we read; "The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men to see if there were any that did understand and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy; there is NONE that does good, no, not one."

In the Ecclesiastes 7:20 we read, "For there is not a just man upon earth, that does good, and sins not." And Paul writes in Romans 3:23; "For ALL HAVE SINNED, and come short of the glory of God."

These are examples in God's word of the sinful condition of each and every person. WHO among us can say that we've never sinned in our lives?
Not ONE. We may not all have sinned in the same manner, or in the same degree, but there's none who has not sinned.

Sin is like a disease in the heart, the effect of it in our lives, and nothing can cure it but the SAVING POWER of the WORD - and the BLOOD of the LAMB OF GOD (Jesus.)
That's the reason the prophet Isaiah, a great man of God, had written seven long centuries before the birth of Jesus saying; "And the Lord had laid on Him the iniquities of us all."

In John 1:8-9 we read; "If we say that we have NO sin, we deceive ourselves, and the TRUTH IS NOT IN US."

There's no use for man to try to deny or to HIDE his sinful condition, either before God or before man. It can't be done. But there is a remedy for it, and Saint John, the beloved disciple of Jesus, tells us of the remedy;
"If we CONFESS our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Those who confess their sins before God and ASK for FORGIVENESS, become aware and realize two things;

The DEPLORABLE condition they were in before their salvation.

The GLORIOUS condition after their salvation.

Psalm 40:3 tells us more about it; "I waited patiently for the Lord: and he inclined to me, and HEARD my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock and established my goings. And he has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall TRUST in the Lord."

A person who's UNSAVED - a practicing sinner - doesn't (and can't) realize fully the fact that they're in a "horrible pit, in miry clay."
They don't recognize the DEPLORABLE condition they're in, like a drunk person who may actually be lying in the filth of a gutter, yet thinking they're all right.

How can such a person realize the blessed experience of SALVATION, and the JOY and PEACE that FILLS THE HEART" How can they show gratitude and praise to God, because of that salvation?

This is the 'NATURAL' man, the man who thinks he's all right, because of his own so-called 'righteousness,' yet not realizing that his sense of righteousness on his own merit is like a filthy rag in the sight of God.

"The heart is DECEITFUL above all things and desperately wicked; WHO CAN KNOW IT?" - Jeremiah 17:9.

That's the heart of the man who's unsaved. The 'natural man.'

So you see dear reader, ALL men and women are sinners in need of salvation, and the PUNISHMENT or HELL is awaiting them UNLESS SAVED (The judgement of God for Sin.)
Furthermore, people can't save themselves by their own 'good works,' but Jesus Christ came to call all sinners to REPENTANCE.
Salvation is only possible through Him. That was the very REASON why He came into this world. To shed His blood as a sacrifice for our sins

In the agony of the cross, He was reconciling us to God.
Much love,
Melina xxx
