How to Find God

Every era has its own unique spiritual characteristics. Right now, in this modern era, we are in an era of cold disinterest and even a defiant OPPOSITION toward the Christian faith.
Sadly, the love for our heavenly Creator, and His Son Jesus Christ is getting COLDER, as well as rarer to find. There are also many 'luke warm' Christians.

Are you a luke warm christian? Take the test and find out; Luke Warm Christian Test

Not only has there been a great 'falling away,' but the love of many Christians for the truth has grown cold.

In its wake are seemingly endless new age beliefs, strange occultist methods, FALSE pseudo religions, mind organizations, and a whole other slew of selfish, humanistic activities which occupy time and attention. But which can never satisfy the true longing of the heart.

The shallowness of our inner experience, the hollowness of our worship, and that imitation of the world all testify, that we, in this day, don't know God, and we don't have an actual RELATIONSHIP with God.

We hardly have one at all.

If we would only reach out to God and SEEK Him amid all the worldly externals.

We must first be determined to find Him, and then proceed in the way of simplicity.

God REVEALS Himself to 'babes,' and hides Himself in thick darkness from the 'wise' and the prudent.

We must simplify our approach to Him. We must strip down to the ESSENTIAL.

We must put away all effort to impress, and come with the guileless candor of childhood.

If we do this, without doubt God will quickly RESPOND.

Reading Christian Books

Reading Christian books can certainly help create in us a real desire for MORE of God's fullness, and for a more spiritual life.
It's especially helpful in regards to prayer. When our spirit is low and we have no inspiration for prayer. Even the reading of a spiritual poem can stimulate the mind, raise the spirits and REFRESH the soul. It can make it easier to pray, as well.

As to what books to read, the BIBLE, of course, is the best of all

However, we may need other books as well. Although no other book can take the place of reading the Bible, and none of us should ever neglect reading it, there are many Christian books that can be read in connection with it.

Whatever devotional book you're reading, don't read too fast. Think and digest it as you go.

Furthermore, let there be a frequent lifting of the heart to God in PRAYER. It's not the bee that flies so swiftly from flower to flower that gathers the honey, but the bee that goes down into the flower.

A few sentences taken into the mind and heart, and dwelt upon until they've become a part of you, are better than many pages read superficially.

However, nothing beats reading the BIBLE.

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." - Hebrews 4:12.

What to Say During Your Evening Prayer

How to pray the evening prayer;
Scheme for ten minutes at the end of the day.

Review the day.

Run over your day backwards in the recollected presence of God, and you'll almost certainly have a double need.

Confess your sins to God.

Things will come to your mind which will not be pleasant to recall....

A failure here;  something not strictly truthful; and missed opportunities for doing good…

Deal with each thing separately.

ITEMIZE your sins. Don't bundle your beastliness or pettiness together in one of those all inclusive phrases; "Forgive me all my sins."

But DO feel remorseful over them in their separateness, claiming forgiveness in our Lord Jesus Christ, and have a greater wariness in the future.

Make restitution where you can.

Give thanks.

Every evening will bring its occasion for GRATITUDE to God - for morning prayers answered, and for help through the day.

Let the day close with a warm, inward awareness that God has, indeed, been WITH you all through the day.

Before sleeping, COMMIT yourself to God again; "Father into Your hands I commend my spirit."

How to Find Out God's Will For Your Life

WHAT'S God's Will for your life. Yes, yours!
As Christians, we should be looking to get our hearts into such a state that they have no will of their own.

Three quarters of our difficulties could be overcome if our hearts were only ready to do the LORD'S Will, whatever that happens to be.

When you're truly in this state, it's not about YOUR feelings, or a simple impression for that matter. If it comes from that, you can make myself liable to any delusion.

We need to SEEK the Will of the Holy Spirit, through, or in connection with the Word of God (the Bible.)

In this regard, the Spirit and God's word must be combined.

If the Holy Spirit guides us at all, He'll do it according to the SCRIPTURES - and never contrary to them.

We can also take into account our actual circumstances. These can plainly INDICATE God's Will in connection with His Word and His Spirit.

In addition, we should be asking God in prayer to REVEAL His Will to us.

Therefore, through earnest PRAYER, and the study of the Word and reflection, we can come to a deliberate judgment according to the best of our ability and knowledge.

If your mind is at peace, and continues to be after two or three more repeats of this step, you can proceed with your plan accordingly.

In trivial matters, and in more important issues, you'll find this method most effective!
